  • greens – Flower Nabana, Black Kale, Swiss Chard, Mizuna, Komatsuna, Pak Choi, kale and mustard,
  • root crops – White Lady turnips by the box (no tops), radishes, beets with greens 
  • peppers  – hot
  • fresh herbs – arugula

All Things Considered

In spite of three days of hospital visits and the holiday hustle with family, food and a power outage on Christmas day, while I was cooking, a little bit of farm work was accomplished this week. I transplanted seedlings in to the tunnels and David continued to clean up brush generated from his blackberry project.

The Tree Won

David sports injury after sparing with a Spruce. Apparently the Spruce rebuffed the idea of dressing up for the holidays.

Blackberries

This week David has been working on the bank behind our future blackberry row. After dividing a number of monkey grass clumps David planted them. Then he added concrete blocks to the top of the retaining wall to help hold the dirt while the grass is taking root.

He also removed an old white lilac bush to make more room for the blackberries. He managed to save a couple of small stems with roots. Hopefully, they will start to grow again in the spring.
